ELECTRONIC RESOURCES
Remote access to electronic resources
Remote access to the electronic resources offered by Turku University Library from outside the network of University of Turku is possible for the staff and students of University of Turku. Thus it is possible to use electronic resources from anywhere in the network, such as from home computers or from an official journey abroad etc.
Remote access takes place as follows:
- Nelli links on the library pages include a path to Nelli via remote access proxy. If the user uses a computer outside the University of Turku network, the University of Turku email user identification and password are first enquired. After that there is access to Nelli. If the user is using a computer which is connected to the University of Turku network, there is no password enquiry.
Attention! University of Turku email user identifications are assigned only by University of Turku Computing Centre and if you have forgotten your own password you will have to contact the Computing Centre.
Important! When using the computers outside the University of Turku network, please, remember to shut the Internet browser after usage.
We recommend the newest browser versions.
Problem situations in remote access
There is no access to certain resources in spite of login:
- check the address on the browser’s address line and copy it and send it with the description of the problem to Nelli ’s maintenance with Nelli’s feedback form. We will check the fault and try to fix it.
The remote access page on which you should write your own email identification and password is blank and will not open:
- user’s fire wall does not allow remote access proxy telecommunications to the user’s computer. User must open one’s fire wall gates to them. You can receive information on the gate area that should be opened by sending a message with Nelli’s feedback form to Nelli’s maintenance.
