ACQUISITIONS
The library acquires information resources primarily for university research work and teaching as well as studying. Material is acquired as purchases and exchanges with other universities and library also receives a fair amount of donations. In addition to these the material for Fennica collection is received on the grounds of Legal Deposit Act.
The library acquires scientific books and periodicals (printed and electronic) and databases from different fields. New publications, especially journals and handbooks, are mainly acquired in electronic form.
Discipline-specific libraries acquire the materials of their own fields.
Acquisition proposal to the library’s collections can be made either in written form (addressed to Acquisitions department or faculty library) or by www form.
Donations
The library accepts donations in case the material is suitable for the library’s collections. The library has a right to operate with the donations according to its own consideration. The library’s collections are fairly extensive as far as Finnish literature is concerned so there is not a lot of material missing. In case of donation, you can contact the library’s Fennica collection (02) 333 6189 or when international material is in question the Collection services (02) 333 6163.
