The name of the University of Turku must be published in all publication of the university in the offical form: University of Turku (Note! NOT e.g. in form Turku University).
Annales Universitatis Turkuensis-serial
Publication services of the Library will give you guidance in publishing your work in the series Annales Universitatis Turkuensis. We publish dissertations made in the University of Turku.
Annales Universitatis Turkuensis is divided into the following subserials:

Patterns of covers for Annales-serial
Minimun print run for doctoral dissertation in Annales-serial has been altered since 1st January 2008. If the dissertaion is published in print and electronic form in the university publication archive the minimum print run is about 50 copies depending on your faculty, if the dissertation comes out only in printed form the minimum print run is about 100 copies depending on your faculty. Please check/contact your faculty office for the excat number of copies required by your faculty. Note that if you want to get printing scholarship you must publish your dissertion in publication archive (e.g. your dissertation comes out both in print and in electronic form).
If the dissertation comes out only in electronic form the library requires 1 printed copy of the dissertation. Please contact your faculty for their requirements concerning printed copies (usually at least 1 printed copy). 1 copy must be submitted to the Student Services ("Opiskelijapalvelut"). Copies must be done on archive paper.
Electronic version ot the thesis must be sent to library 15 days before the date of public defence, printed copies must be delevered to receiving parts 10 days before the date of defence. You can send the electronic version by email ty-annales@utu.fi
Printing house can be chosen freely by the author. Before printing, the covers, back text, title page, loose leaf and reverse side of the title page of the publication must be taken to the editorial of the series for approval of typography by email ty-annales@utu.fi (PDF-files) or by fax +358 (0)2 333 5050). Proof in 1:1 format. The editorial of the series will check that serial and bibliographic information are correct. A few days should be allowed for this process, which shall be taken into account when planning the printing process.

For financing the doctoral thesis, please contact your faculty office for printing scholarship (Library is not responsible for paying printing cost). The amount of printing scholarship has been altered since 1st January 2008.
Turku University Publication archive (Eprints of University of Turku)
Turku University publication archive contains copies of publications of the University of Turku. Most of the publications are theses of the University of Turku. You will find the archive on the web-address http://publications.utu.fi The archive is part of Doria.
How to submit doctoral thesis for the publication arhcive
If you are doctoral student of the university, you can publish your dissertation on the archive by following the instructions here:
1) If your publish in Annales Universitatis Turkuensis-serial, make a serial request to the serial. The editorial will submit the necessary ISBN-numbers for you. Fill in the agreement form for publishing in Annales-serial which you will find here (PDF-file). Return the agreement form to Annales-editorial (contact address below).
2 ) Finish/convert your work to a PDF-file. You may ask your printing house to do that job. If your dissertation consist of an overview and original articles only the overview part will be publish on the publication archive.
3) Submit the file to the library e.g. by using the Hermes system for file transfer, recipient email kirjhall@utu.fi. You may also submit a CD/DVD-Rom to the library (contact address below). The library will put your thesis to the publication archive. The file must be submitted to library at least 15 days before the date of public defence. The library will publish your work 10 days before the defence date.
If your thesis comes out in other than Annales-serial, please contact your faculty office for making the agreement on publishing on the Turku University Publication archive. You will find the agreement form here (PDF-file). Submit a PDF-file of your disseration and a copy of the agreement form and a copy of your printing permission of the thesis to the library at least 15 days before the date of public defence. You may use the Hermes system for file transfer, recipient email ty-annales@utu.fi.
How to submit master's thesis for the publication archive
If you are a student of the University of Turku you can publish your thesis at the e-prints archive after acceptance.
1) Convert your thesis for PDF-format.
2) Sign the pulishing contract at your faculty office. Please ask that the faculty office will send a copy of the agreement to the library.
3) Sent the PDF-file to the library e.g. by email ty-annales@utu.fi
The library will put your thesis to the archive.
