Resources

The Mathematics and Science Library collection consists of over 60 000 items and approximately 640 printed journals. Books and journals are on open shelves, only some older material is kept in the stacks. Fore more information about the resources and availability please go to the appropriate library unit sites.

Special Collections

T.H.Järvi Collection is a large special print collection especially of subject areas such as fish, fish industry and hydrobiology. The collection is situated in the faculty library's stacks and information about the collection is found on card files kept in the Bio-Geoscience Library. The material can be borrowed except items from the19th century and damaged ones.

J.G.Granö Collection is situated in the faculty library's stacks and can only be viewed in the Reading Room in the Bio-Geoscience Library. The unique collection consists of articles of J.G.Granö from the beginning of the century till the year 1956. Collection also includes Granö's books ALTAI I-II (1911-1921) both in Finnish and Swedish and his famous geographical books  Puhdas maantiede and Suomen maantieteelliset alueet . Olavi Granö Collection in the Bio-Geoscience Library is focused on Costal Geography. The collection is loanable and the location in the library and Volter database is ML Bio-Geo Maant.Ran/OGranö.

The extensive Zoology Special Print Collection includes articles from the 19th century onwards. Some of the famous contributors include M.Linnaniemi, Kaarlo Linkola and B.Poppius. The collection is in the library's stacks and is loanable exept the very old and damaged items, which can be viewed in the library's Reading Room only.

A small collection of Nature Conservation Journals inlclude issues from Korean Nature,Wildlife Society News and Cape Department of Nature Conservation. The collection is kept in the stacks and is found using the following Location Search:ML C-varasto Ymp.
