Information literacy
User education at Turku University Library is based on the standards of the information literacy competency for higher education. In this context, information literacy can be defined as the ability to search for, locate, evaluate and make use of diverse information sources.
The standards for information literacy competency are based on the Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education[PDF], issued in 2000 by the American Library Association.
