Orders from the closed stocks (call slips)
Nearly half of the materials at the Turku University Library are situated in closed stocks where readers have no access. These materials must be requested from the stocks in advance. If the call slip has been placed before 12 o'clock on workdays (Monday to Friday), the material will be available for pickup the same day after 3 pm. Otherwise it will be available for borrowing the next workday after 12 o'clock. This applies mainly to collections in the Main Library, which have call numbers PÄÄ Fennica and PÄÄ Genera.
You can request material available from the stocks by placing a call slip via the Volter database. Concerning the material not catalogued in the Volter database, please consult the loans service desk in question.
Material requested by call slip and ready for pickup will be held for you in the library for three days. You need a valid library card for borrowing.
Some materials at the Main Library are located in the distant stocks which are visited on Mondays and Thursdays (twice a week). Material requested on Sunday at the latest will be available for pickup on Monday after 3 pm and on Wednesday at the latest on Thursday after 3 pm. In the Volter database these materials have the information: Location: Pääkirjasto, etävarasto and Loan period: For reading room only, make a call slip request, delivery next Monday and Thursday.
